Anthropic Lets Paid Users Spend Claude Credits on Third-Party Agents

Anthropic just opened the wallet. The company is rolling out Claude Agent SDK credits for its paid plan subscribers, letting them funnel their subscription toward programmatic use of third-party AI agents. The feature goes live June 15.

The big deal here: users can now allocate credits to external autonomous agent frameworks like OpenClaw, the popular open source agentic harness. Previously, powering OpenClaw through a Claude subscription wasn't an option. Now it is again.

This is a smart play from Anthropic. Instead of keeping its ecosystem locked down, it's positioning Claude as the engine behind a growing universe of autonomous agents — even ones it didn't build. Paid subscribers get more flexibility. Third-party agent developers get access to Claude's infrastructure. Everybody eats.

OpenClaw fans in particular have reason to celebrate. The hit open source tool gets a direct pipeline back to Claude's capabilities.
