Alibaba Jacks Up AI Chip and Storage Prices Up to 34%

Surging demand drives Alibaba to hike prices on its T-Head AI chips and cloud storage products significantly.

Alibaba Jacks Up AI Chip and Storage Prices Up to 34%

Alibaba is cranking up prices on its AI hardware and cloud storage — and not by a little. The company is raising costs on its T-Head AI computing chips by 5% to 34%, with the Zhenwu 810E among the affected silicon. Cloud Parallel File Storage gets a 30% bump.

The reason? Demand is through the roof. Alibaba's AI compute products have apparently been selling so well that the company feels comfortable pushing significant price increases across the board.

It's a telling signal about the state of AI infrastructure demand in China. While Western cloud giants compete on price cuts to lure AI workloads, Alibaba is moving in the opposite direction — hiking prices because customers keep showing up anyway.

The increases span both compute and storage, suggesting broad pressure across Alibaba's AI infrastructure stack rather than a bottleneck in any single product line.
